Indian Head Massage

As the name implies, this massage originated in India, and has been adapted from Ayurvedic techniques. It's purpose is to release stress and tension in the face and scalp, and to keep both head and hair in good health. By helping to relax the thin layer of muscle covering the head, Indian Head Massage improves blood flow and nourishes the hair follicles. This massage has been extended to include deep and relaxing massage to the shoulders, upper back and neck.

Benefits of Indian Head Massage include relief from anxiety and insomnia, headaches and migraine, and a deep feeling of relaxation and well-being. It is also said to improve our concentration and memory, to promote confidence and self-esteem, to alleviate eyestrain and, with correct diet, to encourage a healthy skin.

Indian Head Massage can be performed with or without oils. The client sits in a chair during the treatment and remains fully clothed. The therapist uses a range of different movements over the neck, shoulder and scalp areas. In addition, the therapist will also gently stimulate and stroke the pressure points of the face. Indian Head Massage can help to reduce stress and fatigue, increase mental clarity, and to relax and rejuvenate.
