Taste of Retreat

What is a Retreat?

A retreat is a time when we choose to step outside of our ordinary day to day life.

To me, just not doing daily life; doing something else, is called a holiday. Retreat is different to this. The choice we make to step aside for a moment also includes stepping into something; into a space that will allow us to pause and reflect, and into an environment, often with others, where there are tools to help us to be still and to notice who is in here (in this body, in this life) and how they are doing?

Herbal Walk and Home Remedy Making

On this one day course we will take a walk around Staveley in the beautiful Kentmere valley. We will identify, taste and pick some common herbs in their natural habitat.

Returning to the village hall, we will make various simple home remedies from the fresh plants. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.

We will be going out whatever the weather. Please bring hot/wet weather gear, and a picnic lunch. Sorry, no dogs.
